Join us on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 5pm MDT for a virtual, live step-by-step demonstration on how to prepare an amazing gourmet meal with acclaimed Chef Biju Thomas. The night will start with a demonstration on how to make a signature Fords Gin Cocktail with Simon Ford and end with a live performance from Les Greene! 

 

All proceeds will go to Kids Play International’s sport and gender equality after school programs in Rwanda and Cambodia.

Meet your Chef

Chef Biju Thomas is a professional chef known for light, simple dishes bursting with bold flavors.  Biju Thomas is a lifelong cyclist and self-taught chef based in Boulder, Colorado. Biju regularly cooks and eats with the best athletes in the world—from cyclists, triathletes, and runners to climbers and race car drivers.  

Born and raised in South India, Biju found his love of all things food while growing up on a small family farm and cooking alongside his large family, all of whom cook, love to throw big dinners, and talk about food at all times.

Biju has appeared along with Guy Fieri on the Food Network’s DDD, the show ”Scraps” on A&E, dozens of local and national TV shows, and podcasts. As an entrepreneur, Biju is a co-founder of Boulder based sports nutrition company SkratchLabs, and in 2020 helped launch the popular online cooking platform mixn-match.com.

Simon Ford is the co-founder of Ford’s Gin

Fords Gin is a collaboration between 8th generation Master Distiller Charles Maxwell of Thames Distillers and Simon Ford, dedicated to creating spirits designed in unison with professional bartenders and celebrated distillers from around the world.  A thoughtful mix of nine botanicals, Fords Gin starts with a traditional base of juniper & coriander seed balanced by citrus, florals and spices. Steeped for 15 hours before distillation, the botanicals deliver an aromatic, fresh and floral spirit with elegant notes of jasmine and grapefruit that creates a versatile base for any gin-inspired cocktail.

Taking a Closer Look at Les Greene

 

There are highly trained musicians, and there are musicians with a natural talent for the arts. Meet Les Greene, a self taught singer who started singing in his bedroom and whose voice has managed to recapture the soul and passion of the 60’s and 70’s blues. Starting out with the band Patrick and the Swazyees, which has been active for two years, Les Greene has expanded his skill sets, learning to play both the guitar and the piano.

Ingredients for Cook Along

List of dry ingredients we will SHIP in a “Dry Box” to Premium Registered Guests  &  Virtual Guests will purchase these ingredients on their own

1 x small soy sauce

1/4 cup Crushed Peanuts (for topping)

1 small bottle Sriracha / ground chile paste

1 sriracha mayo

1 peanut sauce

2 tablespoons sesame seeds

1 bottle ginger / soy dressing

1 lbs all purpose flour

1 small container corn starch or potato starch

1 package vermicelli noodles: (soak in hot water / drain and rinse: follow instructions on packet)

1 package rice paper wraps

4 x jalapenos

garlic / ginger paste

2 X fresh lemon

Fresh ingredients that All Guests should have or purchase

1.5 lbs boneless / skinless chicken cut into bite sized pieces (thighs are preferred)

1/4 lb Carrots

2 Cucumbers

small container bean sprouts

1 head leafy green lettuce:

1 bunch scallions

2-4 cups vegetable / canola oil for frying

2 tablespoons sugar
