Tracy Evans and Kids Play Int’l are on a roll right now and they’re not stopping anytime soon.
Founder, Entrepreneur & Olympian, Tracy Evans visited Rwanda 2009 and was so impacted by the devastating suffering the people in Rwanda experienced that she felt a dire need for her organization to come and help.
Years after the genocide, the children of Rwanda are still suffering. There are an estimated 101,000 children that are heading approximately 42,000 households. These children have lost parents for various reasons – many were murdered during the genocide, some have died from AIDS and others are in prison for genocide-related crimes.
Kids Play Int’l is creating opportunities by using sport to promote gender equity and education to help a generation of Rwandan children reclaim their lives.
The inequality of genders, education through sports, and history of genocide certainly do not just exist on this continent. It is utterly mind-boggling how many genocides have occurred throughout the world and Kids Play Int’l now also has it’s sights set on expanding to Cambodia.
This is where the passion and purpose behind Kids Play Int’l lay.
