Kids. Adventure. Trekking. 10 Volunteers. Kindness. One Thousand Hills. Yoga. Sports. Experience. Laughter. Gratitude. Teamwork. Together. Life Changing.
What an experience! 2013 was the first year Kids Play Int’l held a Yoga Volunteer Trip, which integrated yoga into the KPI afternoon sports programming and volunteer activities. Can you say, great success?
Check out these inspiring highlights from our adventures…but if you want the real deal. You know what to do…
Teaching yoga to our volunteers, some of which were in the same boat as the kids, having never practiced before. That’s one thing I love about yoga, it’s a level playing field. We all have unique bodies that will feel each pose differently.
Each afternoon with our Kids Play Int’l kids was so fun and special. There’s no real way to know what to expect until you walk out onto the field and feel the energy, smiles, and enthusiasm around you. Truly a genuine sense of happiness.
OlympAfrica is an organization across Africa that provides sports and educational opportunities for youth. Jean Paul, our local KPI Program Director also heads up the Nyanza OlympAfrica. He loved bringing yoga to the organization. Can you tell?
Gorilla trekking! We did it. We loved it. And we got pretty gosh darned close. Good on ya, Andrew!
Sometimes the impromptu experiences are the best. We were grateful to have a chance to visit the Gatagara Disabled School. This primary and secondary school includes children with and without disabilities. This photo (right) is of old wheel chair parts used to make new ones for the children.
Visiting and helping out with the City of Joy Preschool. Stretching, relays, and of course watching these young kids line up and sing their national anthem. City of Joy provides the children with uniforms and daily porridge for nourishment.
Relays, walks, and treks. It’s more than an adventure with Kids Play International, it’s a life-changing experience.
