Olympian-led and inspired
Trips are uniquely led by one of KPI’s Olympic Athlete Ambassadors, giving everyone the opportunity to travel and volunteer alongside Olympic and professional athletes.
Travel With a Purpose
If you think the countries are beautiful, you should meet the children!
Combine rewarding volunteer work while experiencing the kids, culture and countryside of some the world’s most incredible countries. KPI’s volunteer trips allow people the opportunity to travel with a purpose and experience the impact of our mission firsthand. We offer volunteer trips several times a year to our established program site in Gatagara, Rwanda to support our sport and gender equity Let’s Play Fair program. We also organize volunteer trips to non-program sites in an effort to share the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Fair Play and assess the viability of other communities, raise funds and increase global awareness of KPI’s mission.
The revenue generated through the trips directly help to grow and sustain our Let’s Play Fair (LPF) program by providing coaches training, evaluation of our program, enroll children in our LPF program, support for children in our program to stay in school and more!

Thanks to our Sports United grant from the U.S. Department of State, KPI is hosting a 2 way cross-cultural exchange; this past June 2016 we brought over 8 of our Rwandan coaches to Park City, UT to celebrate Olympic Day and for the second part of our exchange we are taking a delegation of Athletes to Rwanda to celebrate Olympic Day at our program site in Gatagara, Rwanda.
We are also excited to be opening up this unique trip to 10 other volunteers who would like to travel and volunteer alongside the athletes as part of this exchange.

On this adventure we will immerse ourselves in Rwanda’s vibrant culture. We will have VIP access to the Genocide memorial where we will have a Q and A with with genocide survivors. You will be a key participant in KPI’s Let’s Play Fair program, Olympic Day celebration event and take part in our Grand Opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for our new Equality through Sport Community Center. This is an experience of a lifetime, as you volunteer alongside other US and Rwandan Olympians and share the Olympic values with the children who participate in our Let’s Play Fair program. Lastly, this unique landscape is also quite the happening place for….Gorillas! There are very few places in the world where you can experience a Silverback Gorilla in its natural habitat, and Rwanda is one of them!
